YapStone requires its merchants to submit a valid W-9 form (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) in order to collect the merchant’s legal name, address, TIN and certification that the merchant is not subject to backup withholding. The W-9 form information needs to match the details you provided at the time of your application, as a 1099-K will be issued to the entity that is contractually bound to Yapstone.
Failure to provide the Form W-9 may require Yapstone to withhold funds from you and directly pay the IRS a percentage of your gross revenue.
